Knitting enthusiasm

If I were to continue the form I established earlier, I would have entitled this post, Textile art everywhere vol.4.  But that was before I knew that guerrilla knitting/crocheting was a trend.  (Uhhh, where have I been??)  Check out this article and slideshow from CNN International:
“Guerrilla knitting” sounds like contradiction in terms. After all, how can a peaceful, meditative and solitary activity bear any connection to a movement suggesting solidarity in subversion?  Read more...

If you've got an overabundance of knitting energy, however, something to really consider is knitting for charity. A list of charities and charitable projects are listed on this Interweave Knits page.  The page is from 2010 and unfortunately a few of the links are outdated, but worthy and active organizations such as Knitting & Giving (which gives knitted items to hospitals and homeless shelters) and Project Linus (which provides blankets for security and warmth to children who are seriously ill) are listed.  I'm sure you'll find an organization that meshes with your creativity.

Clicking here will take you to the CNN International article on guerrilla knitting.

You can search for a knitting or crochet charity on the Lion Brand Yarn site.
